How to retrieve year end reports from Wonder Lister for Income Tax Use

To produce sales reports for any period, use the main menu option:

Reports -> Sales Reports

On the screen that displays, enter the starting date and the ending date for the sales report and then click the button labelled ‘Show Report’

After some time, the sales report data will be displayed in a Grid format.

After the Sales Report has been displayed in the Grid (under the three different Tabs), Right-Click anywhere inside the Grid, you would see several options including the options to Export in various formats. For printing (or just to save raw data in electronic format like a CSV file), Export the data as CSV format. That CSV then can be opened, edited easily in EXCEL and can also be printed.

Processing of background tasks when Wonder Lister is running in a networked environment

Background tasks are important to keep the data within Wonder Lister database up to date. Besides fetching periodic updates from eBay, background tasks also submit listings scheduled within Wonder Lister.

Wonder Lister is designed such that no configuration is needed to be done by a user as to which workstation should process the background tasks. The first workstation that starts Wonder Lister automatically becomes the “master” computer as far as processing of background tasks is concerned. If for any reason, the “master” workstation goes down, then, one of the remaining workstations will assume the role of the “master”. No user intervention is needed for this to work.

However, there may be times when you need to “Pause” this background processing for a while. You can “Pause” (and “Continue”) using the main menu option:

Tools -> Options -> Manage status of background tasks

“Pausing” all the background tasks should be done only when absolutely needed because not just the synchronization of data with eBay is impacted but also any pending Wonder Lister scheduled listings won’t be processed.

 

How does eBay Duplicate Listing Policy impacts you

eBay’s Duplicate Listings Policy states

“The duplicate listings policy is designed to help you list in a way that makes it easy for buyers to find and compare items that interest them.

You can’t have more than one fixed price listing of an identical item at the same time. 

You can have more than one auction-style listing for identical items. However, only one duplicate auction-style listing without bids appears on eBay at a time. Separate listings may be created for the same item on different eBay sites, as long as the international shipping options don’t result in the listings cluttering the search results of any individual site.”

So, how does Wonder Lister helps you?

In Wonder Lister, there is a system folder called “Potential Duplicates” which displays those active listings that APPEARS to be duplicate. You can look at each such listing to confirm if they really are duplicate and take appropriate action (may be End potentially duplicated listings). This would go a long way in ensuring that your account does not get suspended by eBay.

 

 

eBay error: Auth token is hard expired, user needs to generate a new token for this application

This error indicates that the authorization you gave Wonder Lister to talk to eBay on your behalf has expired. Therefore, Wonder Lister is no longer able to communicate with eBay.

To resolve this, please go to the main menu option:

Tools -> Options -. eBay Accounts

Select each of your accounts one by one and do Reauthorize.

Once all accounts have been (re)authorized, restart Wonder Lister.

 

Difference between Bulk duplicate and Mass duplicate

In Wonder Lister, you have two options to duplicate multiple existing eBay listing at once. They are:

  • Bulk Duplicate
  • Mass Duplicate

Bulk Duplicate:

In this case, you select ONE listing and duplicate it ‘N’ times. ‘N’ new listings identical to the one you started with are created.

Mass Duplicate:

In this case, you select ‘N’ listings and duplicate each one of them once. Thus, you still land up with ‘N’ new listings.

What is an AD Template and how to create and use it?

So, what is an AD Template?

An AD Template as the wording itself implies is just a template to define how your eBay listing description should look like. The simplest example would be say you wish some/all of your eBay listing’s description to have a blue background. Now, you can edit each individual listing to have the blue background. Of course, if you have to edit say 500 times (one edit per listing), this would be quite cumbersome. The other option is to create an AD template and in that template, specify that the background color to be blue. Once, you have created the AD template, all you need to do is to APPLY that AD template to all/some of your listings.

How to Create an AD Template?

From the main menu, go to Tools -> Options. A new tab would get added to your main view. The view would look like as follows:

Click on “AD Templates” link. A new window would open as shown below:

Enter the details as shown above and click on “Save AD Template” button at the bottom. In our example case, we named our AD Template as “Background color set to blue”. Now that we have created an AD Template, how do we use it in a specific listing?

  • Open Manage Listings view. If not already open, you can use the main menu option, Listings -> Manage…
  • Find the listing you wish to use in the Listings Grid.
  • Double-Click on that Listing to start the editing process. This will open up the selected listing in the Listing Editor.
  • Select the AD Template just created and click on the any of the two Submit buttons as shown below

But, what if there are dozens or even hundreds or more listings to which you wish to apply this AD Template?

There could be two cases in this situation.

First, listings that ALREADY have the AD Template set to “Background color set to blue”. But subsequently, we edited the AD Template itself. In this situation, the changes you made to the AD Template are NOT automatically applied to those listings that are already using it. So, what you need to do is to re-apply the AD Template onto those listings again. For this, first we need to find those listings that are already using our AD Template. In Wonder Lister, in Manage Listings, you can do a search by AD Template. Once, you do this search, all such listings matching the AD Template you searched for will be displayed in the Listings Grid. Select one/many/all listings in the Grid. Right-Click to see the available options. The absolute last option is to “More…”. Hover your mouse over that option and you will see more options. One of them is “Reapply AD Template” Please see screenshot below.

Second situation could be that our existing listings are not using any AD Template at all and we wish to apply our newly created AD Template to some/all of them. In this situation, again, select listings from the Listings Grid, you wish to apply our AD Template. Then, we need to do Bulk Change those selected listings. Click on the “Edit…” button above the Listings Grid. A new window opens up where you can select the AD Template to be applied. Please see screenshot below.

How to specify shipping costs for an eBay listing overriding what is in your shipping profile?

A shipping profile contains information on:

  • The currency used for the shipping costs
  • Countries you wish to ship to and/or exclude countries you do not wish to ship to
  • Domestic shipping details including services and costs
  • International shipping details including services and costs

How to use a shipping profile but change the shipping costs for a listing?

In the Listing Editor, select a shipping profile you wish to use. All the options as specified in the shipping profile will be used as they are including the shipping costs. However, you do have the option to override the shipping costs specified in the shipping profile but continue to use everything else specified in that shipping profile.

To override shipping costs, follow these steps:

In the Listing Editor, click on the link labelled “Edit Shipping Costs” just alongside the dropdown labelled “Shipping:” as shown below.

A new window opens up where you can select/change the profile selected, edit the shipping costs and then save the changes you made. Refer to the screenshot below. Please note that if you haven’t changed the shipping costs previously, then, the default costs as specified in the profile are displayed.

How to remove shipping overrides from your eBay listings?

In Wonder Lister version 01.03.0146, a new feature was added that allows you to remove the shipping cost overrides and you can do that in bulk.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Manage Listing by clicking on main menu option Listings -> Manage
  2. Click on the folder of your choice on the left so that you have displayed (in the Listings Grid) the listings you want to edit
  3. Select one/more listings inside the Listings Grid
  4. Click on “Edit…” button just above the Listings Grid
  5. A new window will be displayed where you can specify which field(s) you wish to edit
  6. Check the option that says “Remove overridden shipping costs?” and ALSO check the box next to it
  7. Click on “Submit revisions” button at the top
