Instructions for revising items by ItemID using a CSV file

Use this file to

At least ItemID must be specified.

Instructions:

List of valid column names

ItemID Required Unique ID assigned to each inventory item.
SKU Optional Stock keeping unit.

  • If the item is a non-variation item:

    if SKU value is _delete_, then, the SKU is removed from the item. Otherwise, the item's SKU is updated with the specified value.

  • If the item is a variation item:

    If SKU is specified, then the specified SKU must be a variation SKU. In this case, the variation is updated.

To remove sub title, set it's value to _delete_

Description Template ID

To find the numeric ID assigned to a Description Template, use the main menu option:

Tools -> Options -> Description Templates

Then, SELECT the Description Template of your choice. WL will display the ID assigned.

To remove Description Template used in the item, set the value to 0

Description No If a value is entered for this column, that value is used and the value entered, if any, for Description File Name is ignored.

To remove existing description, set the value to _delete_

Format for specifying local path (UNC format) on your computer:

General note about each picture:

Specify value ONLY for those positions that you wish to edit/delete. For example, to edit second picture, specify a new location for Picture 2.

To delete a specific picture, specfiy _delete_ as the picture path for that specific position. For example, to delete sixth picture, specify _delete_ as the value for Picture 6.

Condition No Many categories require that Condition must be specified. The value depends on the Primary category. For example, condition value could be:

Item Specifics

Use this column OR you can use INDIVIDUAL columns for EACH Item Specific Name (see next column for details).

Item Specifics must follow this format:

Where

Name1, Name2 etc are the Item Specific Names

Value11, Value12, Value13 etc are the Values for Name1

Value21, Value22, Value23 etc are the Values for Name2

... and so on

If Name is an eBay specific name, then, the Values must follow eBay specified rules for that name (Whether it accepts 1 value or more)

If Name is custom (non-eBay), then, only a single value must be specified

Multiple values for a name must be separated by |

Name and its values must be separated by = without any spaces in between the name and its values

Each SET of (Name, Values) must be separated by two semi-colons (;;)

To remove all existing values for a given name, set the value for that name as _delete_

For example,

IS:<ItemSpecificName>

Substitute <ItemSpecificName> with the actual Item specific name.

For example:

where Type is the actual Item Specific name in this case.

You can have as many columns as you want, each MUST start with IS:

No Each INDIVIDUAL column representing ONE Item Specific ONLY.

Use this format to specify value(s) for an Item Specifics as an INDIVIDUAL column:

Where

CF:<CustomFieldName> No CustomFieldName is the name of the custom field. If there is no existing custom field by the name specified, a new custom field with the specified name will be created.

For example:

CF:Surface finish specifies a custom field with the name as Surface finish. All blank spaces following the CF: and before the first character of the name are atripped. Similarly, all blank spaces following the name are stripped. Essentially, the custom field name cannot have blank spaces at the beginning or end of the name.
