Instructions for creating inventory items using a CSV file

To find the numeric ID assigned to a Description Template, please use the main menu option:

Tools -> Options -> Description Templates

Then, SELECT the Description Template of your choice. WL will display the ID assigned.

Only numeric amount without the currency symbol must be specified.

• Metric - Dimensions should be expressed in centimeters, weight major in Kg and weight minor in gms
• English - Dimensions should be expressed in inches, weight major in pounds and weight minor in ounces

Paths can be specified as local on your computer or as http paths.

Format for specifying local path (UNC format) on your computer:

\\<COMPUTER_NAME>\<SHARE_NAME>\<path_to_image_file>

as non UNC path. Example value:

General note about each picture: If an intermediate picture is not specified, then, all subsequent pictures are re-numbered upwards to fill-in the gap. For example, say, if you leave out the fifth picture but enter sixth and seventh, then, in reality, sixth and seventh will actually be fifth and sixth pictures.

Use this column OR you can use INDIVIDUAL columns for EACH Item Specific Name (see next column for details).

Item Specifics must follow this format:

Name and its values must be separated by = without any spaces in between the name and its values

Each SET of (Name, Values) must be separated by two semi-colons (;;)

Substitute <ItemSpecificName> with the actual Item specific name.

You can have as many columns as you want, each MUST start with IS:

For example:

CF:Surface finish specifies a custom field with the name as Surface finish. All blank spaces following the CF: and before the first character of the name are atripped. Similarly, all blank spaces following the name are stripped. Essentially, the custom field name cannot have blank spaces at the beginning or end of the name.
